3-hour 3D
By Rachel On January 2nd, 2010Happy Saturday! I’m gearing up for the big game tomorrow. Tomorrows games will determine whether or not the Steelers get to the playoffs. They have to win, and then their wildcard chance still depends on some other games, so we need a little help. Fingers are crossed!
This morning I was shocked to wake up and find that S was already awake. I made coffee and lunch (since I slept in a little and missed breakfast.) For lunch, I split a rack of ribs with S, and had a bowl of pasta shells with olive oil and parmesan cheese.
Not exactly health food, but damn, it was good.
After lunch, we went to go see Avatar! I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive at first because I found out that it was almost 3 hours long. I don’t really do that well with long movies… Usually I have to go to the bathroom, or want to take a break to walk around or get a snack… you get the picture. That’s why I am usually more of a movie rental person than a movie theater person. I like to watch movies in the comfort of my house, on my couch, with my kitchen and bathroom right around the corner. But S really wanted to see it, and it was 3D so I thought it would be pretty cool to see in the theater.
In honor of the blue Avatars, I will write the next paragraph of my post in blue. Hahaha…
We went to the 3pm showing, so got tickets a little bit cheaper than normal which was nice. Since we were going to an afternoon show, we expected the theater to be pretty empty. It was PACKED! Almost every single seat was taken. The only seats left were in the first and second row of the theater. So we sat in the second row, which I have never done before. I was a little nervous that my neck was going to hurt (especially in a three hour movie) or that we wouldn’t be able to see very well because we were too close. But it was awesome! With the 3D glasses and all the special effects, it was really cool to be up front. And my neck didn’t hurt at all afterward. It was a great movie. It held my attention for the entire time, which is rare for any movie – let alone a three hour one. S didn’t love the story line that much, but he did love the technology and special effects. I definitely recommend this as one to go see in the theater, because the 3D really is cool up on the big screen.
During the movie, I munched on a bag of trail mix that I packed and brought with me to the theater.
Yep, I’m that girl that sneaks food into the theater. Sorry… I won’t pay five bucks for a box of candy when I could bring a snack that I like better from home! I brought my big purse and snuck in some food and a can of pop for S too
When the movie got out, S and I went home where we found the cats sitting by the lamp in the living room. They love to sit by that lamp – I think it is warm.
Then we decided to go to Target. The cats have been scratching a lot lately, and we think they might have fleas
So we decided to suck it up and get a flea treatment for them. Target is right next to the gym, which was where I wanted to go (and S didn’t…) so S dropped me off there and went to Target. I did 30 min on the stepmill and then walked over to Starbucks (also right next to the gym) and met him there. I may or may not have had half of a piece of his marble cake (and didn’t have my camera for a picture.)
By the time we got home, I was starving. But first we had to give the cats the flea treatment. S did the dirty work, and applied it on them in the bathtub upstairs. I did the easier, follow-up work by taking a shower right afterward and washing the mess down the drain. Nobody can say I don’t help out!
Then it was dinner time. I had pasta for the second time today, which is rare. I made a creamy parmesan sauce and mixed in crab meat and sauteed spinach. I ate it with crackers and baby carrots.
It totally hit the spot.
Dessert was…. Sugar Cookie ice cream. We’re almost at the bottom of the container
That will probably be tomorrow. It will be a sad day.
I also had a couple handfuls of Jelly Belly jelly beans.
Now I’m off to bed to dream of a Steelers win tomorrow. Goodnight!

Pasta twice in one day, girl you are great. I still fear stuff like that, can’t wait till I get over some foodie fears!
My kitty had worms last year at this time, such a pain for you and the poor kitties. Hope they get better:)
